Doors

I tried to search this but I couldn't find a clear answer. I have a 61 non unibody with a door someone swapped on that has a custom cab badge on it that doesn't fit very well. Do all doors from 61-65 fit all trucks? Uni's and non uni's. appreciate the help.

Yes the doors are dimensionally the same.

Model 81 (conventional) doors have a dog leg to adjust the body line parallel to the ground.

Model 66 (Uni) doors have a sloping body line.

Each start and end up on the same place.

I'm thinking the replacement may be tweaked because the top by the a pillar is out from the body a good half inch which the rest of the door is pretty good so I'm thinking ill look for replacement for both since pass side needs a lot of body work and seems like these doors are easy to find. One other question. As far as I can tell they didn't make 61's with styleside non uni. So if I wanted to put a styleside bed on my 61 flairside would it fit?

The 61 flair side is a RARE truck. Don't change it. It is the only configuration the 2 wheel drive came in other than the uni.

But, yes a style side bed from 57 to 60 will direct bolt up along with the correct rear 57 to 63 bumper.

You mention the CC badge does not fit well. Is it loose or? It may be missing the barrel clips that hold it in position.

C1TZ-8125622-A .. Custom Cab Script Nameplate-1961/66 / Right/Left is the same / Mounts to doors using 1/8" barrel clips / Reproduced

The barrel clips are placed in the holes in the doors first, then when the pins on the nameplate are inserted, the barrel clips expand, retaining the nameplate in place.

But, if the nameplate is removed then reinstalled more than twice, the barrel clips lose their ability to retain the nameplate, as they've been expanded too often, so nameplate becomes "loosy-goosy."

1961 F100 Flareside production figures (6 1/2' & 8' beds combined): 2WD = 21,474 / 4WD = 2,468.

StumpPuller: Need some nice used rust free doors in SoCal? Dave (garbz2) knows where to find them and so do I, because I took Dave to the source. Where in SoCal do you live?

The cc logo is trashed I was just trying to specify which door I had. I thought the cc door may have Been different. The truck was originally a caltrans truck. It's very very original. Original engine, still runs good, oil bath air filter, almost no rust. Picked it up for $900 bucks. Looks like it had a little rub on the drivers side door and a little on the cab. The door was swapped and that's it. The flairsides bed is amazing shape. Tail gates done but rest is good. I wasn't sure if it was very rare so I figured I would just swap the bed. It's also an auto which I thought was unique.

Trucks in my albums.

Also about the bed. What about a 64 or 65 styleside bed. Will it not fit?

I'm in the Palm Springs area.

Wrecking yard located in LA, just north of the 105 freeway, If you're interested, I'll meet you there as the general public is not allowed in the yard (except for the chosen few).

Not open on weekends.

There may be a tailgate there, but I'm not sure, as I've never looked thru the tailgates since first hittin' this yard in 1967.

Tailgate reproduced by Mar-K in OKC, both Blue Oval Truck Parts (Anaheim) and The Truck & Car Shop (Orange) have it.

1964/66 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD: Same Styleside beds, but won't be correct. Unless you need the extra space, why swap a Flareside for a Styleside bed?

Former Cal Trans truck: Likely an F100 with 223 I-6 & Ford-O-Matic. Truck has the optional left rear fender with the cut-out for the spare tire.

I may have to take you up on that yard if I don't have any luck down here. I'm not sure if your families with my area but yucca valley for reason has tons of parts for these old trucks. But I appreciate the offer if I strike out.

I'm kind of partial to the styleside but I may just fix this one up and get a styleside later. Seems kind of dumb to swap the bed if its in good shape and not that common. Have you ever seen anyone do a custom metal bed instead of the wood?

The wood (pine as original, or oak) is also available, it's pre-rabitted to fit into metal bed strips that are also available.

Flareside beds were originally painted body color, but you rarely see that today, as most have been sanded/varnished or varathaned.

Born in Santa Monica when FDR was prez. You name a CA area, I've probably been there, searching for hard to find used and NOS parts.

Bought out over 300 west coast Ford & L/M dealers stocks of obsolete parts. Hit all the former Packard dealers (have two dealers lists: 1927 & 1956), cleaned them out, too.

Packard/Studebaker dealer in Palm Springs, Palm Springs Ford, Palm Springs L/M, Ford dealers in Brawley, El Centro and Robinson Ford Sales in Calexico...cleaned 'em all out.

Some of these dealers are long out of business.

Yeah I've been here since 99 and its weird, their is a lot of money in this desert but only one good car show a year. Really only one hot rod shop and it anit doing that good. I don't get it, you'd think people would love it here. Too many people with Ferraris and German high dollar cars. It's awful. I appricate the help.
