Exclamation 92 Explorer Radio Harness

My wiring harness has been clipped, it is a "shielded cable" and has 8 wires.

Wire Colors:
Brown
White/Red
Yellow
White/Orange
Green
Purple/White
Light Blue
Light Blue/Black
Metal Wire Strand

It looks like this means that I have a factory amplifier, but how can I wire up my aftermarket radio with these wires and get sound out of my speakers?

From this and your other post, kinda sounds like you need a factory service manual. Try searching for one on eBay. As for your stereo problem, if you buy a harness (I got mine at Walmart for $10) as if you were going to hook up to the factory harness, if I recall correctly the Walmart harness wires are the same colors as the factory wiring. If I recall correctly....

Yeah, the chilton manual is on the way now. As for the walmart harness, I already have that, problem is that the factory harness was clipped when I bought it, and the connector is gone, so I can't connect directly at this point.

But are not the colors of the wires the same on the Walmart harness and the wires in the truck?

I found this on The Install Doctor - Radio Wire Harness and Colors - Ford Lincoln Mercury Hope it helps you.... Good luck!!!!!!!!

There is more detail on the web site......

Up To Late 1990’s
Ford/Lincoln/Mercury Radio Wire Harnesses
Note: using an optional snap on wire harness adapter will simplify the wiring. Most snap on wire harness adapters have already converted and color coded
the wires from the auto makers in dash wire harness to match typical aftermarket radio wire colors.
** The wire colors listed in the chart above are typical for these vehicles during these years but may not be the exact colors for this vehicle. This is another reason to use a snap on wire harness adapter. **
