Exclamation HELP!!! What is this?

Just picked my daughter up at the bus stop, and when I pulled into my driveway I noticed a rather large oil puddle (it "ran" due to rain we just had), and I found this lying in the middle of the oil. It appears to be some sort of jumper, but of course I have no clue what for and why it's in the oil. Changed out my copper oil (valve?) plug about a month and a half ago, but my truck is obviously still leaking some oil. Will have to check that out further, but in the meantime what the hell is this thing??? Anyone?

Looks like a new battery ground cable.

"New" is right... no dirt/grime anywhere in the connector area (unless Christine spray cleaned it with brake fluid or carb cleaner before she snapped the pic).

Hmmm, maybe it didn't even come off my truck then! This is good to know. It definitely is new & clean. My ex-husband was here over the weekend and installed new back-up lights on his truck (my F350 that I had to give up in my divorce - GRRR!), and I bet you that idiot left this on the driveway. How ironic that it's laying smack dab in the middle of an oil puddle and I didn't see it until today. Very unusual since I am in/out of this house daily, and I don't usually overlook anything. He'll be by shortly to pick up our daughter, so I'll ask him. My money says that moron dropped it when he was working on his truck. I'm gonna smack him for causing me all this unnecessary anxiety!!

You definitely think that's what it is, even with this plug/connector end??

Yep, Yep ... he's an idiot. It was a ground cable for the back-up lights he installed. He used a different cable, so this must've fallen out of the package. Unreal. I get all worried for nothing! But again, how freakin' ironic that it's laying in a puddle of oil. Hey, what do I know? Apparently not much!!

It is probably a ground strp for something that takes that type of connection. What guage(thickness) of wire do you think it is?

Those DO come with lights in the installation kit.

I think looking for the oil leak should be a new thread.

Or

You live on oil rich land and will soon be able to buy as many F350s that you

Want.

I know a lil bit about electrical and yes that is part of the lights that were installed. Most kits come with an installation kit that us usually pretty much lower end wires and switches. That is a ground jumper for sure.

Hello Christine It's nice too see you haven't seen you a round in a while. Now when your X was over working on his truck was he parked where the oil puddle is ? Hopefully it is coming from his truck and not yours.
