Ford Specialty Tools
Guys. I just stumbled upon an amazing find. I went to see a guy about a Yakima roof rack for my X, and while I was in the warehouse he is using to keep his stuff I noticed stacks of red plastic tool boxes with Ford part number all over them. Turns out this guy used to own a dealership in Corsicana, TX that closed up a couple of years ago. He has ALL the Ford specialty tool sets from his dealership sitting in this warehouse. In the short time I was there, I found a kit for testing injectors on the 7.3, a kit for tearing down and rebuilding the 5r110, a compression testing kit for the 7.3 and many, many others. Pallets of these kits!
HE IS WILLING TO SELL THE KITS TO WHOEVER SHOWS UP TO GET THEM. He quoted me $200 for the 5r110 rebuild tools! He wants $150 for the injector testor setup. Anyway, I told him about this website and the want ads section if he really wants to move the stuff. We will see if he takes the time to post anything up. In the meantime, if any of you all have something ALREADY IN MIND that you NEED, I am going back down to that warehouse on Thursday (this week) to sort through the boxes and see what I might want. I don't have much $$$ to spend, though...
Edit: the warehouse is in Austin, TX. He says he can take credit cards....

I have a couple different "ford" wrenches but not from the model T I don't think. I also happen to have more than a few cummins tools from my father in law who dad worked in a diesel shop.
One of the tool sets from the cummins shop is a tap and die set with its matching drill bits. Very high quality set, never seen another like it.

No "gray area" speech yet. Who gives it? I may help him post some stuff in the classifieds if he asks me to. Just telling everyone of an opportunity for now...
I'm planning to go down there and really sort through all that stuff in a couple of days. He pretty much has every special tool for working on superduty trucks (up to 2006 I think), Expy/Navigator and I saw some tool kits for the new Thunderbirds, focus and other cars. These are mostly kits for transmission rebuilds, axle disassembly, engine rebuilds and stuff like that. Then there are the tool kits for testing components like injectors, and I saw a few kits for compression testing 4 cylinders at a time on the 7.3 and 6.0. Neat stuff!
