Generally, they break when you remove the air filter. Just remember to remove the dipstick before servicing the air filter.

The O-handled dip sticks don't fit in the tube that the tee-handled ones fit into do they?

Mine did, it was just a tight fit.

In my cooling system thread I talked about the oil cooler not having been updated by Ford but some people believed it had been. The update was that you can get just the internals now and rebuild your oil cooler instead of replacing the whole unit.

There's no way to take apart an oil cooler to replace anything...

Guess I'm just reading it wrong. Someone said something about a rebuild "kit" for the oil cooler.

The oil cooler housing (or adapters I believe Ford calls them) no longer comes with the oil cooler like it used to. All you get from Ford is just the heat exchanger now.

Ah, ok, that's what it is. I'm assuming the heat exchanger is all you need, correct?

Awesome, thought so.

At this point I'm gonna get my coolant filter installed and drive the truck for a while and let the coolant filter do its thing. My EGR cooler seems fine at this point and my oil cooler is only running about a 10-15 degree delta. I'll probably just start accumulating parts so they are ready to go when I want to tear into the truck.
