Angry Mirror swap... w/ fail (with Pics)

So my truck had one '01 mirror and one '99 mirror when I got it. No biggie save and buy some "nice" mirrors.

So I got some '03 King Ranch mirrors from SnakeDoc as these pics indicate:

Nice and dark green, so I can call this my "green mod" .
The only issue was this, which was advertised when I got them:

So I swapped the mirrors, fixing severed wires that stopped my old mirrors as I went. Not a big deal. I traded mirrors with a local guy, not on FTE, which got me another unbusted frame for around the glass, and a spare mini mirror.

I got it installed fine, even the large mirror when in without issue. my problem came trying to get the stupid little mirror installed. I had a spare... which I busted. So now I'm left with this:

Anyone know where I can a) get another unbroken one and b) install it without lots of glass blowing up in my face? I've picked all of the shards out my clothes and I am completely confused as to why my hands aren't shredded or even nicked.

Oh, before I forget, here is a front view of them installed.

Thanks!

And before I forget, I did put the usable bits up in the Parts F/S. Read the ad over there for more info @ https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ftgh-ship.html

I did exactly the same thing when I had mine apart for having the stems powdercoated.
I ended up getting a NEW "mini-mirror" from partsguyed.

That looks pretty nice... but I'm really just looking for the lower mirror if someone else busted their top one. I think my wife would kill me if I bought another full mirror again. I have a slightly scuffed OEM outer mirror cover with all of its tabs if that would make it easier for you to move the mirror you have right now. At least if the Cool-Vue followed the OEM location for the tabs that is.

Nice install. I need a driver side black cover that mounts to the door. The two mirror arms go thru it. Need one so I can get a set of heated mirrors to my dad. I will keep my eye out for a little mirror.

Yea, its one of the parts I have not seen around as a "spare" and they appear to be a little bit more specific as well. A 90* base one will not fit/hold correctly to a 180* base.

If I see one that isn't totally destroyed I'll send you a PM... although you do know that to install that mount you have to take the mirror 90% apart, making it almost easier to swap the glass, if you can find one that only needs glass.
Do you have the inverted torx bit to take the base apart? I was looking and removing the mirror from the door then removing that looked like the least glass breaking solution... otherwise you have to do way more work than unbusted plastic is worth.

Some of this stuff is a total PITA!!

Thanks for the thought though.

Too bad this won't work!

I have a non-broken drivers-side tow mirror in fair shape...

Not sure if it will work but I just swapped out a set for a buddy of mine on his E99. His old mirrors had the falling apart and taped up arms but the rest was still good. I don't think he has trashed them yet. I can see if he is willing to send em out to you. I seriously doubt he will want anything for em but I can check just the same. They were power glass and that is it. No heat or anything else. The bottom glass didn't move either so I don't know if they will work for you or not.

The lower half-moon mirrors are all the same-and all stationary IIRC-completely interchahgeable '99-'07 for any mirror as long as it is for the correct side.

On the 03 up with this style mirrors, the lower portion moves... On the E99's, it didn't move. At least they didn't on mine and my buddy's truck. That was additional goodie when we swapped them out.
