so today i installed a 3g alternator out of a 1995 ford mustang 5.0, the reason for this is because the old alternator is of poor design, it only puts out 65 amps and i would come to find out they have a tendency to catch fire, when the connector on the side comes lose
first thing i did was remove the alternator and its bracket from my truck because the mustang alternators case is bigger, the bracket interferes with it after some cutting and grinding it was a perfect fit
wiring is simple the yellow wire is hot, the green and red wire is the alt's controll so just splice that to the one in the bronco, and the rectifier cable coming off the back of the alternator is a 6 gauge cable that goes from the back of the alternator to the hot side of the starter solenoid
