I have thought of a few parts I can make with this machine, what have you guys made with yours? I'd like some ideas, I'm sure there are many that I haven't thought about.[/quote]
Can you carve me out a new truck?
Looks like a fun toy Bob. I had a small milling machine pulled out from under me not long ago. It was mainly used for gunsmithing. My ex sister-in-law gave it to me after her dad died, but then she ended up getting a new boyfriend between the time she gave it to me and the time she came to town to help me get it out of the house, and, yup, you guessed it, she gave it to him......aaagh. And she had the nerve to ask me to help her load it up.....lol

Bobby, are you also one of those guys who worked on their Ex's cars after the divorce? I knew two guys who would do that, they both did major repairs, like complete paint jobs for their Ex's. Unless I was desparate and lonely and knew I get some serious payback, I wouldn't do a damn thing for my ex, that is if I had one.
BTW, my wife and I just celebrated our 25th last week. I tell her it seemed like five minutes, under water.

Bob,
LOL...the only thing I ever did to my ex wife's car after we split was to install some wheels and tires. I had to do that to get my set of 15" Corvette rally wheels off of the car.
When people ask me and the wife how long we've been married my standard answer is "well, it feels like and eternity"....LOL...we've been together for 21 years and married 18.

Will be clean & sober 29 yrs. Oct 31st . Think I've got that licked !!
Something I gave one of the ex GF's was a small tube of valve lapping compound in the crank case of her prized '68 442 .She forgot I had a key to the garage where I would work on it .You know what the out come of that was . As the good ole' NASCAR boys would say " She blowd up !"
Bob , great score on the lathe .I can see a mill in the future .With out access to a lathe & Bridgeport mill the 1ST-RIDE build would have been much more difficult .Still have the use anytime at the race shop . The mill is awesome .See one off license plate frame in pics .The reason being the old plates are not 6 x 12 .

I worked in an office all my life as my primary skill was analytical. I would often daydream of working with machines and producing products; there is great satisfaction from building something yourself.
The only tools my Dad had in this tool box were a pair of linesman pliers and a screwdriver he bought from Montgomery Wards; both had a lifetime warranty. I inherited the pliers; I think my sister got the screwdriver.
I realize it takes a great amount of training, skill, and patience to learn how to be a machinist and I admire those that taken that road in life. I’m beyond the age to learn those skills. I’m glad to see you have taken on the challenge Bob and I wish you the best in putting your new tool to work.

I think you're selling yourself short by the "Too old to learn" statement! I'm a farmer from the San Joaquin Valley in CA. and never used much more than a cutting torch and a welder until I bought a Chevalier Mill. By trial and error I've made some neat things. The nicest one was an air cleaner for my Flathead V8, vintage '48. It has 4 97's and I couldn't find one I liked so I made one. Got the largest oval filter that would fit over the 4 carbs and then designed a top and a bottom along those lines. I'll send a picture as soon as I can figure out how to upload it.I'll be 78 in February of next year, so I'm not a spring chicken either.
