Comet Pan-STARRS

My eight-year-old and I went out last night and saw the comet. It should be visible again tonight, 20-30 minutes after sundown and to the lower right of the crescent moon. There's a narrow window of about 30 minutes before it goes below the horizon, at least here in NM.

I got these with my eleven-year-old DSLR on a tripod. Not great, but not as bad as I expected.

Nice. I've been looking the last couple of nights and haven't been able to see anything.

Those are decent photos. I haven't been able to see it because it's been cloudy here all week in the evening, except last night, when I was busy. Grrr.

Thanks, guys.

We may try to go out again tonight. I don't know if I'll bother trying to get more pictures, though -- at this point it's really an equipment limitation.
