Fun day at FMC

Well this morning, I cleaned my EBP sensor and tube, unforgettably I didn't get the tube off the exhaust pipe, even though I'll be doing that next time. Even with the pipe on, was able to send a cable through and broke most of the crap in there.

Once I got it cleaned and everything back together worked on starting, I knew that a couple times it might be a little rough, but after 4 tries and then some quick black smoke she ran good. Took her around the block to warm up and then stop by my local FMC to see how much for the tube and possibly sensor. I wasn't going to pick up anything today, but check price. Then I went to the service center since I know the head service tech, told him the situation of course he was trying to figure the best answer when one of his diesel techs came around the corner.

Well the service tech told his mechanic the situation and he asked what year, I said I had a 04, of course with 04 there's the early and the late model, he asked were my ICP was located at and I told him by the GPM, he asked again what year and I said 04.5, at that point you could see him wondering exactly what I had just said, so I reminded him my ICP was at the GPM and he said to replace both the EBP and tube, yet he says that the wire harness might be rubbing, but I've checked and nothing shows any signs of rubbing.

Result of the day when talking to a tech about your 04.5 F350 remind him your ICP is at the GPM before you start.
