Can anybody decipher this date code on the sidewall?

Is that a DOT (street) tire?
Who is the tire manufacturer?

Older than 12 years.

If DOT approved.

 

It's a Goodyear Hi-Miler Xtra Grip that I believe is original to the truck (1966) as that is the name called out on the build sheet. I've already tried that web site and others but they all suggest the last 3 or 4 characters should all be numbers. This tire has an "E" in there so not sure how to decipher it.

 

Maybe the "E" stands for 5 being the 5th number in the alphabet. So, that tire was made in the 52 week of 1953. No? didn't think so... Seriously though, that would be real cool if those tires were original to the truck! Wouldn't drive on them very far, but very cool.
