I like it better with the solid color trim. What is the solid material and what color is it? I might be concerned about keeping it clean around the handles.
Did you replace the deteriorated foam in the arm rests? what did you use?

I'm thinking with everything else, the fabric won't be so "in your face" when competed.

The doors have factory 5-star parts; metal trim around cardboard door panels (painted brown), arm rest (repaired plastic with JB weld and painted same brown), also made new padding with some semi-solid 1" thick rubber i had, just carved to shape) and "upper door panel medal with stainless handle rings" i painted cream to match pieces on dash and grill.

I learned something today, now i have a question....

the door arm rests had alot of damage and i didnt' know why until after installing. i noticed when you tilt the bench seat forward it contacts the arm rests. I then noticed my factory seat has damage in the same area.

what this means is if you want to tilt seat forward you must open both doors first.

Is this normal?

Sorry, not yet. Just have never been a paisley print guy. I think it has something to do with growing up in the late '60s, early '70s.

I am interested in seeing how the seat turns out though. I have major interior work to my Buick and I'd like to do it all myself if possible and I can use all the help I can get.

I had a paisley shirt that I wore with a rust colored leisure suit in the early 70's. My hair was a little longer then.

I have had nothing paisley since then, so I guess I'll just say, "Far out, man!" And groovy! Outa sight! It looks bitchen!

I was pretty hesitant at first as I've never been a big fan of the wierd paisley. But after seeing the door panel installed on the door I guess it kind of works. I don't think I'd choose to do that on my truck but I think it will look pretty good once you've got it all together. I can't wait to see the pics.

It will definately be unique.

At least it's not the overdone Indian/Mexican blanket material hot rodders seem to be fond of...

I'm also interesed in how mine is going to turn out. I've done some sewing before, but this in by far the most complicated thing i've tried.

I removed the upper bench covering today afterwork, i've been shaking my head thinking what have i got myself into ever since?

It's like building any complex item: it's just a bunch of simple operations put together. break it down to the basics, and tackle it one part at a time, don't let it overwhelm you.

i've been working on this off and on all week, really put in some hours yesterday (it gave me damn headache, not sure if it's all the sewing, or my choice of material)

I've still got acouple minor things to fix, paint etc... but here's two pictures of the top half pretty much cmpleted
