Just recently had my EGR kit done on my 04 f250 6.0 diesel, a buddy of mine does side work and hasnt been able to figure it out. My Check engine light wont go away. It was an exhaust flow issue which has been resolved but somehow the computer is reading that its still an issue. Thoughts? Suggestions?

 

Disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, and you will have to reset the clock.

 

I had the EGR delete kit redone, and no matter what i've done it pops back on. I dont want to take it into a dealership and get charged up the yingyang for hopefully a simple issue i could resolve.

 

did you leave the actual valve in place and plugged in? if not, try it.

They might not remove it either and it might come back on if they did. I got tired of looking at mine and put a piece of black tape over it.

 

over the sensor or the dash light? lol

 

The dash light, and sold it like that too......lol

 

yea the only other reason why i care so much to get to the bottom of the issue is cause i need to sell it and people dont like that light being on. Thanks for your help, hoepfully i can figure somethin out or i'll just do the tape thing

 

What parts did he replace/install? What do you mean by EGR kit?

 

It might go off after so many key cycles. Try battery disconnect again in a few days also.
