bad speaker...

Hi all
I have a 2009 platinum with the Sony Stereo, navigation system.
About 50% of the time when i use the navigation, the voice over the speaker is very distorted, like blown speaker. Other times it works fine.
Does anyone know what speaker the navigation voice command is brodcasted from? so i can get this replaced.

thanks Joel.

You would need to reproduce the issue at the dealership so that what ever the problem can be confirmed by the service department. The issue could be something other than a speaker.

There was a recall on the 2009& 2010 microphones for Sync, but this is the first IVe heard of a speaker issue. Is there a problem with the speaker when you're using the radio system, or just Sync?

It may not be a speaker issue. When a speaker goes bad it usually is always bad. I've never seen a speaker that was intermittent. The speaker connection could be the culprit. I know there has been a few that have had an issue with the driver-side front speaker sounding distorted or intermittent. I had the same issue except it wasn’t the speaker itself, it was the connector.<O</O
