2003 Ford F150 stall after starting engine

Been awhile since I've been on here...guess that's a good thing! Current problem...about a week ago my car stalled after starting it. I had been running errands all day so the engine was warm. Started fine, and then slowly died. My husband replaced the IAC valve. (My truck had this same problem 3 1/2 years ago...it was the IAC). After replacing this time, it seemed to be fine. However today, again after running errands, the engine stalled slowly after I had started the engine. It seemed like it was trying to stay running, but then just slowly died. I tried starting again and it stayed running, so I was able to get home. It seemed to run fine while driving home. Also, no engine light has come on. Wondering what could be causing this. Don't want to get stranded somewhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like a vacuum line is loose.

I will mention the vacuum hoses to my husband. Would a loose hose only result in engine stall when the engine is warm? I can start my car fine each morning, and also when it's been sitting for a while. I've only had the engine die right after starting it, when I've been out running errands. Also, it's intermittant...it doesn't happen all the time. That's what's so frustrating. Thinking about taking it to Ford, just to save time for my husband to figure out, but I'm wondering if they'll be able to diagnose with no engine codes & the problem only happening every once and a while.

I'm no expert, that would just be the first thing I'd check and it might just be cracked. Could also be your bellow or plenum sucking unmetered air. I'm no export though that would just be some things I would check first.

Possibly a weak fuel pump? You could check the pressure on the fuel rail if your husband has the tools. Could be as simple as a stopped up fuel filter....

What's the specs on this vehicle?

I'll mention the fuel filter/pump to my husband, too.

If you can't remember the last time it was changed, I'd start with the fuel filter. It's on the driver side frame rail under the truck IIRC....
