iI have a 1993 5.0 with i think the E40D trans the prob i am having is the off light on my gear shifter is comming on at odd times and every time i restart it the speedo is not right also any ideas on the fix

Sounds like you have the curse of the E4OD. The O/D ofd light on end of shidter normally wont throw a CEL code. Its usually a torque converter clutch issue.
Does the truck shift normally while the light. flashes?
