Picked up a Bronco, want your guys thougts

good God that is a ton of work in one stop, bet it feels like an entirely new vehicle. Doing the water pump I would have hoped he did the timing chain. I had a double roller and still it was stretched pretty good when I replaced it.
Always the first internal component I recommend gets changed when someone gets a Bronco with any kind of miles on it.
and that stupid oil pan gasket is a big one, i still haven't done mine yet because I'm sooo not looking forward to it. Must have cost you an arm and a leg for that work.. or you have a really good mechanic. I'm jealous of your mom, gonna be near resto quality by the time it's done by the sound of it.
Make sure you get pictures, especially before and after!

I couldn't believe my eyes when I dropped the pan... piston skirts and cylinder walls were clean!! No scoring at all.. but yeah.. every says its 4-8 hours to do it.. first time takes a long time.. everyone has their own pace..
I bought my 96 for 1k.. body is a lil beat up.. little rust in lower quarters..
ps lines replaced [B] oil pan gasket, pump, pan replaced... whoever had the truck before me and the previous guy before me.. he took care of the truck!! Interor is mint

Yes my mechanic did not enjoy doing the oil pan, but i'm glad he did. His original plan to to just drop it a few inches and put a 4 piece gasket in there. That didn't work out so he ended up taking it right down and he is putting a 1 piece in there. He said it took him 3 hours to get down and broke a stud in the process, apparently the correct way to do it is to remove the motor mounts and jack up the engine a bit, luckily he didn't have to do this. I'm going over there tonight to help him put it back up (i'm just dumb labor). It definitely needed it, you could see the old gasket was squeezed out about 2 inches in one area, not sure how that happened.

If you guys are spending 10 hours laying on your back in oil replacing an oil pan gasket, you're doing it wrong. I've done them before using the one-piece gasket in an hour and a half. You don't need to jack up the motor. The only bolts you need to touch are the ones holding the pan to the block.
