7.3 IDI flywheel differences

I am currently putting a 5 spd. in my 94 f250 with a 7.3 idi turbo and i have a flywheel from a 88 7.3 non turbo, i was just wondering if the flywheel i have would work or if they are different, thanks

if the 88 had a 5 speed in it the flywheels will interchange.

actually they are different Tom,because the turbo engine he has requires the turbo specific flywheel.the reason is,because due the slight difference of engine internals,the damper and flywheel are balanced differently.
this is of course "assuming" the op has a "factory" turbo engine as it appears he's implying.

These engines are so far out of balance anyways... people put non-turboed flywheels onto turboed engines and you probably wouldn't even notice.

Pretty sure racin' is runnin a non-turbo flywheel on his IDIT

While on the subject. I'm considering going solid mass when I swap my clutch. Would it be wise?

I would do it in a heart beat. But I'm not a fan of the dual mass set up.

well i got all the parts coming, how about anyone messed with switching wiring from the steering column to the clutch master for the ignition?

Are you talking about bypassing the clutch safety switch?

No my truck was an automatic and i am putting a five speed in it and i would like the clutch safety switch to work, didn't know if it was possible or not

simple. take the wires from the NSS and hook them up to the clutch interrupter switch.
