48-50 239 Exhaust Manifold
Got new duals on Gertie, but have discovered an exhaust leak on the right hand side. Unhooked the pipe, and when I unbolted the manifold, my worst fears were realized when it came off in two pieces.
I need at least the righthand manifold. There are more cracks in this one than the San Andeas fault. Over the 40+ years we have had the truck, we have gone through three sets of manifolds, and this was the last good pair I had.
I know all about welding these things, and the results are mixed at best. Further cracking is the norm, even with pre-heating and slow cool down. Furthermore, the one I have is paper thin in places, and just not worth the effort.
Looked at the Marketplace forum, and both sets on there are sold.
Anyone have a decent, crack-free pair?

Yes, I have a 7RT manifold (in pieces ) that came off of my F6. Antidotal evidence leads me to believe that from the factory, our trucks came with 7rt-9430 on the right and a 21a-9431 on the left. I replaceed them with a set of 21A-9430/1 (these are older Ford headers from the 30's and 40's I think) headers when rebilt my 239 Flathead V8 (52 F-6). Many early Ford part dealers have these in serviceable condition for earlier V8s. I was really hoping to obtain the proper 7RT-9430 header, but they are pretty rare it seems. I settled on the 21As as they are essentially identical and fit just fine. All the new production headers are seemingly destined for fitting headaches and are geard towards the modder/hot-rod community instead of the purist. In my searches, I have been warned that the passenger model 8BA-9430/1 headers will not fit appropriately around everything in the engine compartment. A quick search has revealed that Little Dear Born may currently be a potential Source for the 7RT-9430 and other exhaust parts:
