Carb ?'s

I've got a 1979 F700 with a 429 that was put in by the previous owner. It has the original Holley from the 370 and its appears that it is shot. I called a local guy that rebuilds Holleys and he said the original (list 8272-1) is a goverened type with emission controls on it and it would be better to just replace it. He suggested a Holley 1850. Any other suggestions on this?

Thanks,

Scott

If you do not need a governor, go with the 1850. If you do need a governor, I think I would use a rev limiter and still go with the 1850 carb...
