that appears to be correct.
171 = RWD
138 = 4x4

but I'm not sure that the list is complete as www.fordparts.com is showing two additional part numbers (FT-161 & FT-188) for the 6r80

best way to find the correct one is to go to the fordparts.com page, enter in your full VIN and then search for the transmission filter.

alternatively, you can call your local dealer's parts department and have them look it up based on your VIN. especially when the descriptions are less than perfectly clear.

I've had to do that a few times when several different part numbers appear to make sure you get the right one.

Don’t forget about the friction modifier additive for limited slip differentials. Part number XL-3 or CXL-3.

You are wrong about engine and transmission degrading faster if you don't use OEM filters. It's called changing the fluid and maintenance. I use Wix filters and have for years and years and never had a failure due to that. Quit giving falsities out there.

Couple things have changed over the past few years... One is, I don't think I would use 0 W 30 in the Ecoboost... a good 10W 30 motor oil is needed.... Second is the antifreeze does not need to be from FORD... You can use any name brand DEXCOOL as it is ORANGE and rated for FORD and GM use.

So true. Remember that these are the bean counters that gave you warping dashes on the aluminum trucks and diesel 5.4s on the 04-08 trucks.

That aside, I believe someone on the other F150 forum brought up a site that shows Motorcraft oils are actually pretty mediocre. No shock there as Ford isn’t in the petrochemical business. Hence, why the aftermarket exists!

flyboy9504 - try this for help for 2014 f150
A table of contents does not provide any specifics (type, capacity, part #, etc), so unless you have the service manual is of no use.
