Looking at 2013 F150 4x4 STX

Looking at a 2013 F150 Reg Cab 4x4 STX and have a couple of questions. I would like to get the same sound quality in a reg cab that the crews have with the factory NAV unit. My wife has a 2011 Platinum F150 and it sound Great. My experience with the reg cabs has been that they put cheap speakers, head units in the reg cab trucks. My last truck was a 2010 F350 XLT and the radio was terrible. Don't want to spend a fortune on the stereo.

Has anyone put a after market NAV/Stereo in a Reg Cab F150?

What size speakers are in the doors? How many speakers come in the F150 reg cabs? 2 in the doors and 2 behind the seats?

Any other information you have on a F150 STX would be appreciated!

I think all of the F150 models with the basic factory sound system will have the same speakers and sound quality. The only F150 sound system that I am aware of with different speakers are those that come with the Sony premium sound system. Some don't even like the stock Sony sound systems. Personally I think they sound great but it's like a lot of other things. It's all in the ears of the beholder and what one should expect with a factory sound system in a new F150.

I've change all of the stock speakers in the last 3 F150's since 2004. If Ford was putting high dollar sound systems in their trucks, the guys in the after market stereo business wouldn't be making as much money. Can the stock sound systems be made to sound better? Yes they can, it's just a matter of how much anyone wants to spend.

An STX is not available with a Sony premium sound system as a Platinum F150 has. You would need to go with a totally aftermarket sound system to get anything close.

The front and rear door speakers on a SCrew are 6" x 9". I assume the regular cab has the same size, but that's only an assumption.
