changing the u-joints in the front axle. my issue is im not sure what axle i have. been searching and read somewere that mid year they changed axles. i have a 01 f250 7.3 diesel. Lariat if that makes a difference. I'll go get the vin in a minute.

My other question is while im in there what else should i change?
I have found a couple diagrams and write ups on changing them and from what i can see it looks like there are needle bearings both in the axle housing and in the knuckle unless im wrong which i could be.

Any ideas on figuring out what axle plus whats in there would be helpfull thanks.
