command start problem with 2008 explorer

my command start for 2008 explorer was installed by ford dealer couple of years ago . now when i press remote start, horn beeps 1 time, doors lock, lights come on then it should start but instead horn beeps once again and vehicle doesn,t start , radio and heater in vehicle run as if vehicle was started

Have you checked the manual for the remote start to see what that second horn honk indicates? Sounds like a diagnostic of some sort. Maybe it's telling you that it senses an open door, or the brake pedal depressed, etc.

command problem

yes i checked manual and is a little confusing because i don,t know if the first beep counts as1 when command is pressed then when vehicle doesn,t start as second beep. 2 beeps is hood open no place does it mention 1 beep. i tried command start with hood open and sure enough, horn beeps once when command button pressed then beeps twice when vehicle doesn,t start so obviously 1st beep doesn,t count i guess!!!! but then what does i beep mean when it won,t start?
