I was assessing Mike's parts truck, and noticed it had the round face radio. The resto truck did not have the radio. Both are Custom Cabs. Was the radio a dealer installed option? The dial has small cracking around the '6', but not much. The tuning **** works fine, so I will probably put the little radio in the resto truck, but would be nice to have a better face. Do any of the vendors have a replacement face?

The short answer - no.Keep watching eBay, but it's likely you'll need to buy an entire radio just to get the pieces you want.Good luck.

Radios were either factory installed options or dealer installed accessories, sold at the part counter.

Radio face plate made as part of the round radio dial, not sold by itself. I doubt anyone would repro it due to the slight demand.

Poor T&C it keeps moving further down the list of projects. Its good its inside & doesn't eat anything.

The list is:
7) 49 T&C 'vert - body off & redid the frame. Just got new top. Was Navaho brown with beige top. Will be beige with white top - the wood just pops off the beige body color. I will be steambending the wood soon. Luckily, on the 1949, the wood (ash) was just trim and not a structural part of the doors as with earlier years T&Cs.
6) '74 Duster for one of my boys - has 318/904 auto, buckets with console. He is 7' tall and the driver's seat is moved back, almost up against the back seat. Almost making it a 3-seater. Needs paint & carpet, then it can go out of my shed to him.
5) '71 Dart - will be go-fast car. Has disc brakes & good body. Need to assemble 451-4 spd, but I have all the parts.
4) '52 USMC-M38A1 I picked up this "for parts..." but its too complete to part out.
3) '44 ****** MB - Poor old girl, entered WW-2 at bottom of Italy and went all the way into to Germany (average life span for wartime Jeep is about 6 weeks before they are wrecked/blown up/abandoned, etc.). She has earned her wrinkles - they will stay. I got sidetracked while working on the MB and built an M2HB for it and then a M1919, which is "correct weapon for it.
2) Then, I inherit three 59/60 Ford trucks when Sandhill Mike passed in Sept. One will be built as he wished. Along with the trucks came a 60 Nash & '60 ****** 4WD-Pickup, and a zillion parts. Do not ever fail to believe that doing good for someone will NOT come back for you in spades. I would have done for Mike if he didn't have anything. He just happended to be a great neighbor and car guy as well.
1) There are also about 8 junk cars that are too far gone, which will go to the scrapyard & pay for some of the resto's. I have about 10 years of projects. I can't wait to retire (2 years).

One of the biggest problems is that when you have more than one project going, you are really dividing your time and $$ between the projects & do not see as much progress as if you only worked on one-at-a-time. I do not mind seeing slow progress, it is fun to have different things going.

I've owned three 1947 T&C rags and one 1942 T&C "Highlander" sedan w/a Coachcraft roof rack. Anemic 6 in 1942 with 'Clunk-O-Matic' barely moved the pile from a stop light before the light changed to red.

I owned all 4 of these way back when they could be bought for peanuts. Minty all original 1948 rag came up for auction in 1974, thought I'd bid on it. Opening bid was 40 grand, it sold for 75. Oh well.

For many years, there was a pretty decent 1950 T&C Hardtop in a Fresno CA junkyard. Owner refused to sell it or any parts from it. Owner died, kids brought in a mobile crusher, bye bye T&C.

1948/50 Packard "Station Sedans" & 1949/51 Ford/Merc woodies were same construction as 1949/50 T&C's. Wood bolted to steel panels. 1949 Ford/Mercs had wooden tailgates, 1950/51's were steel with wood grain painted on.

AMC ended Nash/Hudson production at the end of the 1957 model run, sailed on with Metropolitans (thru 1962), Ramblers and later Jeeps after they bought Kaiser-Jeep from Kaiser Industries.

Jeep owned by more companies than any other make: Bantam developed it, didn't have the facilities or money to build it / ******-Overland / Kaiser-Jeep / AMC / Chrysler / Daimler/Chrysler / Chrysler...now owned by FIAT.

When the US entered WWII, it was obvious that the Toledo OH ****** plant could not produce enough Jeeps to met the demand, so a contract was awarded to FoMoCo in 1942. But FoMoCo never owned Jeep.

Are you aware of Wood 'n Carr located in Signal Hill CA? Among other things, they sell Di-Noc.

Try and find a new vehicle a 7 footer can fit in! Full sized pickups/SUV's and that's about it. Been there, done that and I'm only 6-5.

I'm with you. Of all the cars we've owned & sold. - Oh well, gotta keep looking forward. Nice to look back from time to time though. In '75, I couldn't convince my folks to co-sign for me so I could buy a flawless '55 300SL Gullwing coupe. Silver paint, blood red leather - $5K in Miami FL at the time.

1961: Mae West's 1932 J Duesenberg Murphy Town Car was for sale on a "2 bit" Hollywood used car lot: 500 bucks! I begged my dad (an Olds dealer) to loan me the money so I could buy it.

Dad said no and: "That terd isn't worth 5 bucks, you'll never find anyone to buy it!" Doozy has been sold multiple times since, last time for over 3 million bucks.

1970: Found Charlie Chaplin's 1934 Packard V12 Rollston Landaulet on a chicken ranch in Palmdale, it smelled horrible, was filthy, but nothing I couldn't fix, bought it for a grand.

Cleaned out years of chicken poop, got it running, color sanded and rubbed out the original nitrocelluose black paint, sold it a month later for 20 grand. Dad was amazed.

Chicken ranch owner also had a 1948 Nash Ambassador ragtop. It was rough as a cob, so I passed. I later found out only 50 were made.

1966: Actor Marvin Miller's 1956 300SL Gullwing was for sale at local M-B dealer for 4 grand. I passed as I had waaay too many vehicles, 13 Packards, 1950 Olds 88, 1965 F100.

1972: Bought a 1956 Cadillac 'woodie' Station Wagon at a used car dealers auction for 350 bucks. Suspension was shot, it was a real adventure driving it home on the freeway as it wandered all over the place.

Found old registration, original owner was actor Burt Lancaster. I knew his son and where he and Burt lived, drove it there. Burt gave me the lowdown, Hillcrest Cadillac in Beverly Hills had it built by Hess & Eisenhardt in OH

Burt bought it off the showroom floor. I replaced the draglink and tie rod ends, ball joints were non existant, sold it for 5 grand to local Caddy nut who paid my price without arguing, after I gave him the Lancaster info.
