What fluid do you use in your rear and front diff.

I just looked at all the years ('99 to '03) manuals and '01 is the only year that the Dana-80 uses 75w/140 oil in the differential.

Would you guys post what year, differential, and fluid you use?

Front and rear. Please.

EDIT: What does your manual say to use in the Dana-80.

My manual says 75-90 syn rear (80), 75-90 front, doesn't say syn, but thats what I use. 10.5 sterling is 75-140 syn.

Had a leak last year on the rear, cleaned things up and refilled with the 75/140 syn according to the tag on the diff.

My manual says 75w-140 syn for F-250/350 and 80w-90 premium for F-550. It does not say anything for the D80 in my F-450. However, there is a hand written note on a card from the dealer that says 75w-140 for the F-450 @ 7.5 pints capacity.

The Scheduled Maintenance Guide says to change the diff fluid every 100k. Then it goes on to say that the fluid change can be waived if fully synthetic fluid is used that meets Ford's specifications...(F-250/350 only). F-450/550 trucks are to change fluid every 100k or every 50k miles if used under Special Operating Conditions.

Special Operating Conditions include towing a trailer, using a camper or car top carrier (that one cracks me up...), extensive idling and/or slow speed driving, operating in dusty conditions or unpaved roads and off road operation. I guess I am way overdue for a fluid change.

This intrigues me because I've always seen them say dont change unless they are submerged.
