blocks or springs

Have a 1990 in the next couple months want to do a 6'' lift would it be better to spend the money for the springs how much does it matter

IT would ultimately be a lot safer to get springs. Especially with 6" lift. If it was a 2" block lift, that would be reasonable, but not for 6"s

Springs are always a better option then blocks. They are much safer, too. Adding blocks puts added stress on other parts, also it can create axle wrap which will lower traction and break u-joints. New springs will also improve ride quality over ~25 year old springs with a block thrown on them.

That's my plan, flip shackles. I have heard that even those aren't as safe but I don't have any qualms about it. My springs will hold.

Ah I see. My plan was to order a kit from rc for a 4" lift. Sell the springs and blocks and use the rest.

Building a kit isnt terribly hard. For ttb it's worse. For mine, the kit I am looking at really isn't too expensive.
