Where can I find 1 of these C4TZ-6881-A adapter kits? That cartridge is about a pain in a$$ to service.

Would like to not deal with that mess again..

You don't want it, because...this is what you have now! This is not a kit (see post 22). This is the oil filter adapter only for the cartridge (aka "sock") oil filter for all FT's except 330 M/D.

Does your FT engine have the boss for mounting the FE/330 M/D oil filter adapter that uses the FL-1A Spin-On oil filter?

It seems awkward, but whenever you "insert a picture" to one of these threads, the forum is looking for the picture somewhere on the web (which is always available) rather than from somewhere on your hard drive (which isn't always available).

Go to Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and sign up for a free account. Then create an album for your truck. Upload any pics you want to post on FTE to that album. Have this album open on your computer when you want to post pics on FTE.

While you're making a post on FTE, select the pic you want to post from your Photobucket album. When the large version of the pic is open, right mouse click on it and select "View Image Info". The image info will be highlighted and will look something like this:
http://i285.photobucket.com/albums/l...ghtsafter1.jpg

Copy that highlighted info (right click / copy).

When you have the spot in your post where you want the pic to be placed, select the "Insert Image" icon at the top of the post (looks like a mountain) and paste (right click / paste) the image info you copied in the highlighted box (just shows "http://" when it opens).

Your pic will be placed in the post.

Hope that helps.

Here's a tutorial Bob put together: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/67...-pictures.html

The filter standoff has a groove for the big flat o-ring (which is a pos pita to get back on after its sat in a package all wrapped up) then a large threaded hole for the big hollow bolt that holds the cartridge housing and spring and the other two gaskets against the element..

Is there a stub fitting or something that adapts the threaded hole to fit to a spin on filter that fits in the original o ring groove?

WELL, it was sixty miles round trip and started out with a huge oil blast. about a 2 quarts was left on the ground at my curb!!! the temps was 83 and i was driving into the sun on the freeway and smelling antifreeze, so i turned on the heater, engine temp stayed normal and antifreeze smell stopped. but oil pressure was dropping, so as soon as i parked the FT and unloaded band gear, i checked oil, 2 quarts low. return trip was a repeat, ran heater to hold off overheating and watched oil pressure drop. truck is still at the school, will go get it later, and see how much oil i lost, and antifreeze>

oil change

funny isn't it; i change oil in a C700, but took my 01 Ford Escape in for lube-oil n filter...haha
told my grease monkey that i was blowing oil and he said u got to much oil....so i rush home get out my CD's and dig into maint. & lube section and find capacities and i was right, it takes 8 quarts of oil, so now i'm back to dropping oil pan and pulling oil pump. dang, i'm not lazy, but arthtitis n hernia sure can take the spirit out of you!!! Pep Boys special ordered gaskets for me, hope they the right ones
