Hello all, I have a customer who wants to look into the feasibility of swapping his dying 4.6 in favor of a 5.4. Its a 2002 F-150 2x4 Quad Cab. What do we need in order to make the swap as efficient as possible. We will be heading to the wrecking yard soon to begin taking parts. Im assuming we need a matching PCM from the donor 5.4 vehicle. What else? Is it worth even doing this big job? Thanks in advance.

 

Do some research their are lots of threads on it here, I was looking into it when I got my 4.6 and that's my plan when this one dies. If I remember right you can keep the 4.6 pcm for the tranny program. Good luck and let us know how it goes.
