Your truck with the Olds powerplant reminded me of this truck that I saw at a recent truck show. This guy dropped a 326ci Pontiac in his truck. He told me that he installed this engine in the truck in 1968

I always love to see these trucks with Ford powerplants, and I like engine swap that are interesting. Its not too often you see an Olds or a Pontiac powerplant in them.....Cool

Your truck is looking good! I can't imagine how great it must be to drive it now that it's done right.

What are your plans for the rear of the truck? Is it about all done?

If I was to choose the engine I would probably gone with a 302 or a 351W, but The engine was in the truck when I bought it so I figured why spend money where I don't have to. When talking to some local ford guys they were telling me that back in the 60's it was the cool thing to do. Put a Caddy, Olds, or Buick motor in the truck becuase it was "luxury". I'm 28 years old, so obviously before my time, but I have respect for these trucks and the thought behind them. I would have liked a ford in a ford, but this thing gets up and goes and it was cleanly rebuilt prior to me so i'm going to keep it.

My plans for the rear end are not pin pointed yet, but I know I want rear disc, I need a wider rear axle as I need it two more inches to clear the wheels i'm running. I don't want to tub the bed so "TEMPORARILY" i have wheel spacers to make the wheels fit. So in the future I need a new rear end, Rear disc brakes, and I want a new driveline as the current one is the shortest they could go with out biulding a new one for the engine swap. SOOOO... I need a new drive line soon, probably around 200-300 bucks locally.

Thanks for the comments guys, its fun playing with this truck.

Tyson
