Someone asked about vehicles over 100k miles

A contractor pulled up to a house next door to mine which has been taken over by a bank, and he was driving a 2012 F350 6.7L drw. I got talking to him to see how his truck has been treating him. He stated that besides every 20,000 miles or so, he gets it reflashed for that crappy tranny shifts and how expensive the oil changes are, he's about to get his 4th set of tires. I asked him how many miles he had on the truck, he said he had 100k miles and has a 2011 in the same trim with 150k miles. Said knock on wood, has been trouble free, has not used any sort of fuel additives.

I'm knocking on wood too, I haven't had any problems with the 2 years I've had mine and love every time I drive it.

Just a little info, don't shoot the messenger.

I never got any bad answers to that kind of question and I asked it a lot before I bought mine to people that had them/used them.

Everyone has an opinion on this, and from what I gather the majority of us have a favorable opinion on the 6.7L engine. These next few years will be very interesting as we see whether or not this engine lives up to its name.

Some have an unfavorable opinion and many of them have good reasons for this. Time will tell if they are right or not.

My buddy also known is 6lstrokin has over 100k. Its been running the H&S Tune with the torque2 fuel box and AFE intake, and 35's. His is a 2011 2nd build its been problem free, and he pulls super heavy loads with it, and abuses it as well including racing it and has sled pulled with it...

It is DPF/Urea deleted.

20k he said. Just rode it in it today. Its seen probably 90% of its life nothing but towing heavy loads nothing under 15k-18k. And as I stated when it doesn't tow he can't keep his foot out of it. When we went to Minnesota it was getting 24.5mpg, it is the 3.31 axle. He has also had to give her hell pulling a heavy load before to. I personally changed the oil in it once, and he runs Valvoline synthetic in it. He switched to it because at around 50k it started making a ticking noise but went away with the valvoline oil. It was described as normal...

Its been to the dealer for a mirror, and some issues with the radio I believe, other then that, it hasn't had any issues!
