Transmission seal ?

I changed my 1949 F1 3 speed to a 4 speed with reverse lockout. It has a T8C-1 stamped on the side.Does anybody know which seal it takes on the tail shaft (the transmission support)?I also need the part number for the pinion shaft seal on the differential,if any one knows it.

I can post pictures if it would help.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

B6A-4676-A .. Pinion Seal / 1 9/16" I.D. x 3 5/32" O.D. / CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 1,471 (!) = 800-476-9653.

Applications: 1948/52 F1 / 1953/56 F100 // 1949/56 Ford Station Wagons & Sedan Delivery's only // 1955/56 Thunderbird.

Someone else will have to ID the T8C "reverse lockout" 4 speed trans, as I haven't a clue what it is.

The only 4-sp available would be the crashbox spur-gear 4-sp, which is the Warner T9. I believe the rear seal is C1TT-4813-C. Can't swear to it, the parts CD is unclear.

olbiker, please write down T9 somewhere, the T8C case markings are irrelevant. Originally your trans would have a painted "4TB" on it, probably gone now. Warner T9 is what will get you what you need.

I'm not using the CD, have the original bound paper 1948/56 truck catalog the CD was scanned from (final printing 1964).

There are two parts lists for the T9 (5 & 6). Same seal listed in both of them.

C1TT-4813-C .. Output Shaft Oil Seal / 2.12" I.D. x 3.065 O.D x 1/2" thick / 1948/52 T9 / Obsolete

GRIFFIN FORD in Louisburg NC has 2 = 919-496-4169.

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 6 = 800-543-4959 (and 5 - B6A-4676-A = see post 2).

PARTS INTERNATIONAL in Farmers Branch TX has 6 = 888-727-0418.

Carpenter doesn't have any.

Bill, what threw me was that the illustration doesn't show any seal. It appears to use a slinger at the front.

THANKS again! I went to an industrial supply house and matched up the seals. Getting closer and closer. Guess this time something finally went right. Now, to find a clutch engagement shaft....
