I too have a hard time with the dipstick (oil). I'm learning how to be patient and gentle while utilizing the rotation without getting frustrated and trying to force it which it feels not right any how. I get real concerned about the little sheet metal connection to the dipstick tube breaking while pulling the dipstick out or putting back in.

Yeah the switches should be pre connected to the pass through wires and the pass through wires should be longer.

I have wondered if mine got wound up in the crank. Do they all have a barber pole twist that looks like they were chucked up in a drill press?

Where do you guys fill the oil to? To the line on the dip stick or the hole in the dip stick? My 2016 manual says to the hole in the dip stick. I was just wondering if that is what others are doing also.

Put the 7 quarts of oil in that is specified. Run the truck to circulate oil through filter and system. Let it sit for at least and hour on a level surface for oil to settle. Where the oil is on the dipstick is the normal fill level, mark on the dipstick.

When I first saw the dipstick on my dads 15' 6.2l I thought riveting a piece of plastic to the metal rod was a bad idea. If it comes loose or breaks you have to fish the plastic out of the oil pan. Don't know what is wrong with the all steel dipsticks that Ford has used for decades.

I put my 7 quarts in and that usually takes to just below the top hole... Perfect!

Here's my annoyance:
Sometimes when I am backing up I want to be sure which way my front wheels are pointing. There is a really handy screen that supplies that information on the display - except that it is covered up by the screen to turn the backing signal on or off.

Speaking of annoyances.... My only one so far is after 10K on the clock, my supercab is starting to creak (near the top of the doors I think) when going over unlevel ground or speed bumps at slow speeds.. Anyone notice this also ? I checked the back doors to make sure they were closed. Maybe dry door rubber ??

I'm trying to decide between 6.2 and 6.7 for a 2017. (16k/yr daily driver, 2k/yr towing 15k.)

The dipstick synched it; clearly the 6.7 is for me!

To tow 15K, I would definitely choose the 6.7L.. I only tow 7K with my 6.2L and I am wishing I had the diesel engine on every hill.. !!

Ya Ford saved millions of dollars reducing the thickness of the dipstick..lol..

That's good to know. I tow 7500 lbs with my '09 F150 5.4. It does the job, but every hill is foot-on-the-floor in 3rd gear. (3700 RPM). Not too bad, but I see videos of the 6.2 running nearly 6000 RPM all of the way up mountains when towing heavy. I know the motor is designed to handle it, but it still causes me stress.
