Question Upgrading to SD wiring

My OBS has burnt the GP pins in the VC gasket pass through again.

I am going to upgrade to the SD gaskets and harnesses this weekend.

I have a couple questions though:

1) I plan on using the Felpro gasket, is that okay?

2) Is their another supplier besides Ford or Dorman that sells the UVCH, and the external harness pigtails? (or are Dorman parts okay for these, they suck on the OBS parts)

3) Are they any ways to better ensure that the UVCH do not come unplugged?

4) What are the Ford part numbers for the gaskets and harnesses?

Phil I did this on my obs. I have the Dorman and have been running them for 2 1/2 years with out any issues. Input a little dab of 60 second apoxy on the UVCH to hold them in place

Were you having burnt GP pin problems too?

I just looked at the prices listed on the website. Assuming I have to replace everything, its going to cost 25% more to stick with the OBS stuff.

I burnt 2 obs setups in two year. Both were motorcraft

Tip: take the whole engine harness off the engine to do the pig tails cause you'll have to make the two harness to the VC's into one

If you get the OEM parts from Riffraff (link in one of the posts above...) then it will have a redesigned plug that has a more positive connection. No need to worry about it coming loose.

The original OEM Super Duty harnesses had that issue, which gets resolved by using a quarter in each gasket. You need to shave down the quarter a big to obtain clearance for the valve cover flange. Here is a photo of how that works...
