Overheating Problems

I have a 1992 7.3L Diesel F350 Crew Cab (4x4) which I have added an after-market (ATS) Turbo unit with an innercooler in front of radiator. I tow doubles which equates to approximately 18K lbs. of tow weight. I have issues with over heating on grades (especially during hot weather) when towing. I have added Water Wetter, dual oil filters with an oil cooler and a transmission cooler, and a core was added to the radiator upon installation of the Turbo unit. Has anyone encountered this themselves or are there proven resolutions?

Does your fan clutch work? You will hear it when it kicks on...believe me.

And what kind of shape if the rest of your cooling system?

Towing that kind of weight, I'd go over everything to be safe.

Overheating Problem

Clutch fan spring was disengaged by Turbo Installer for fan to run constantly (directly) to reduce overheating. Yes, entire cooling system has been checked.

Any other suggestions?

You probably need to relocate your intercooler, lower down so the radiator gets more clean unheated air acroos it. The air picks up heat from the intercooleras it crosses it and therefore the air crossing the radiator is dirty or warmer than ambiant so you are in essence losing coolong capacity. When you go up a grade the engine works harder meaning it needs more compressed air so the turbo runs hotter and the engine runs hotter.

So lower the intercooler, is possible completely remove it from the radiator path and proide it with its own electric fan for air movement when the truck isn't moving
