oil sending unit

Bump
Hey Folks,
Bumping this link.
My 95 F510 4.9L Inline 6 has a sticking oil pressure guage
(non-mechanical). from some searching it appears it's possible it's the sending unit thats the cause.
Ive heard they can get clogged with gunk and do this.
For a 95 inline 6, would that be located on the drivers side, rear of block somewhere as well?
I know about what it should look like. round device about as big as a 50cent piece maybe?
Problem:
My oil pressure peg's to HI and stays that way sometimes for the whole trip, sometime it' will drop down to a 'normal' reading but it's finally pisd me off and I want to fix it.
Any photos anyone? from the bit of searching there was lot's of mentioning but no photos for locating on the few links I found.
Thanks so much for any help.

Look for it near the oil filter. While you have it out maybe consider this:

Turn the fake gauge into one that actually works.

As others have indicated, it's not really a gauge - it's just an idiot light masquerading as a a gauge. As such, I don't really understand how it could "peg" as it should only have two positions, fully "low" and roughly mid-range. Maybe if the gauge itself is flaking out in some way it could go fully "high".
Any way, the switch is in the block near the oil filter. It's just a single-wire switch - should be the only item in the block fed by a single-wire. My experience is that they rarely fail though.

ok
Thanks guys,
will look for it by the oil filter area.
Ive done some reading on that deal about it being a fake guage,
will def look into that.
Here's the "other" thing, I ran some seafoam & a bit of Marvel Mystery oil in the truck for a bit and changed the oil, now the guage dont peg as often, but it still does it.
also,
I've noticed my ingnition switch seems to be very sloppy, almost can start with no key , not sure if it's all tied or if the sensor for the oil guage is just gummed up with gunk. It does have 115k on it.
Will do more investigation.
Thank so much for the info.
