94 Bronco Horn Wiring?

There seems to be a wiring connector with 5 wires that were all cut leading into the steering column of my Bronco. The horn does not work and the air bag light flashes in the dash. I need to get the horn working to pass my vehicle inspection. I'm pretty sure the cut wires power the horn and air bag. Anybody have a wiring diagram or know where I can find one? Am I on the right track? Thanks!

Welcome to FTE. We will all do our best to give you accurate information.

If it was cut between the connectors and the wire going up into the column a clock spring might fix it from any parts house. You may need a steering wheel puller. Disconnect the battery for thirty minutes to let the air bag capacitor drain for safety. If the air bag light is flashing code afterwards it may be the air bag board. I found one at the salvage yard for $25.

Thanks, I'm glad to be on FTE. The wires are cut right below where the connector feeds into the column. I wonder if I can find another lower connector piece with intact wires to replace mine. Then I'm not sure where the wires would connect under the dash. I have a few connectors hanging down there unconnected. Where is the air bag board located? Thanks for your help!

Someone correct me if I am wrong. I have replaced two clock springs. Not sure if my memory is correct but think there are two sets of wires with connectors from the clock spring that extend out the bottom of the steering column. I do remember one is yellow wrapped. The board is behind the ash tray. Put your head on the accelerator and it can be popped out without tools. I have pictures somewhere if you want to search.

BTW, if you have cruise control this might fix it also.

Reminder, just disconnect the battery about 30 minutes before you do anything else.

Thanks, will do. I had to order the clockspring today. I'm picking it up tomorrow and installing it. I'll let you know how it goes.

Success! The horn works now. The air bag light is off. The cruise control does not work, but I consider that unnecessary since I have a 5 speed. Thanks for your help!

Success is always so much sweeter on the first attempt to fix something. Congratulations. It is still great after multiple attempts but, better when you get lucky the first time.
