Reason: Wanted to add note about post #1,000
And as we watch the sun go down on 2012 Oops should
save that one for December. Well the days are getting
shorter and the nights a bit cooler. Guess I'll have to
start some time soon plugging in the Diesel.
Thinking about Oktoberfest

Well I only hope someone does not think my truck is the Great Pumpkin
and expect it to give them something. After all it is a green pumpkin
sort of yellow. The last few years we have not gotten that many
munchkins.

He had several hundred young layers (hens), called 'pullets,' and ten
roosters to fertilize the eggs.
He kept records, and any rooster not performing went into the soup pot and
was replaced.
This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to
his roosters.
Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which
rooster was performing.
Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report by just
listening to the bells.
John's favorite rooster, old 'Bama, was a very fine specimen, but this
morning he noticed old 'Bama's bell hadn't rung at all!
When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing
pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing the roosters coming,
would run for cover.
To John's amazement, old 'Bama had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't
ring.
He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.
John was so proud of old 'Bama, he entered him in the Evergreen State
Fair and he became an overnight sensation among the judges.
The result was the judges not only awarded old 'Bama the "No Bell Piece
Prize," but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well.
Clearly old 'Bama was a politician in the making. Who else but a Democrat
could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by
being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention.
Vote carefully this fall, the bells are not always audible.
Thanks
I would like to give you some more REPs But....
You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to caseys again.

I totally forgot to make the thread oh well. This year i happen to be in charge of the decorations and probably handing candy out again... Luckily that means i get to play with fire and burn some pumpkins. Last year i did that and it turned out great. I just need a small ish pumpkin and some 91% rubbing alcohol. It goes well with a fog machine.

No kidding. It was a big hit with people. The only issue was all the fog and the fire being distracting, people would trip on the stairs going up our deck.

All3 cats were very happy when I turned on the kerosene
heater the other night to remove the chill from one room.
It's only for power outages and needed testing. The cats still
love it.

I have noticed on the odd days where i wake up early or i am up through the night, a lot of the neighboring houses have frost on their roofs. It makes me wonder if this winter will yeild a lot of snow.
