Off road type swing out spare tire/fuel cans carrier in a dent?
Ive got a 77 single cab long bed 4x4, and I need the bed space, but im looking for a tire carrier that will carry my 38.5 inch spare and a couple 5 gallon cans of fuel/water.
Does anyone have pics of something close to this on a dent?

Jeff I have a OEM swing out spare tire bracket off a 79 Bronco, I am sure it could be "modded" to mount like on the bronco body side??
I am sure you would need a bed stiffener bracket with a 38.5 hanging off it, especially when you open the tail gate.
You might be able to mod it to get some support off the rear bumper when closed too....
When you come up for the other parts you can ck it out.

I know the tire is heavy, I was thinking of something off the rear bumper

Strong enough to hold a 38'5 and still be able to carry a Army type fuel can and water can, and jack....and maybe a mount for a shovel etc?
Lol Alan, is this feasable?

I'm sure it can be modified to bolt to a pickup frame. I was actually wanting to do the same thing. I have a 78 shortbed that I mounted a bench seat in the back of the bed and have a tool box, so my 33 takes up wuts left of bed space.

I that one too, if I could modify the factory bronco to hold the 38.5" tire, without tearing the sheet metal up, that might.work by modding it. But if I yank my front huge bumper off the.front and put it out back...i would be able to mount a swing arm to it easy. That bumper would hold a 40 " plus tire for sure. Then I can have a new front bumper made how I want.
Im just afraid lll tear the sheetmetal on the fender with all the weight of the tire even with reinforcement....but hey, someone might have done it already to prove me wrong!! Lol! Jeff

A swing open style off the rear bumper is probably the best and most durable. Even seen a prerunner style with no tailgate or the tire mount bracket is the tail gate.
