Which Flowmaster or other muffler for 97 F350 w/460
I can't seem to find which model # I need. I have a 97 F350 Crew Cab long bed 4x4 with a 460 and auto trans. It has a Banks intake system, and it appears to have aftermarket headers which collect down to a single 3" exhaust system; which looks factory.
The stock looking muffler is leaking (sending exhaust gases up under the cab), so I figured I'd upgrade to something a bit more throaty while I'm at it.
I've used Series 40 or 44 on my 79, and it wasn't bad. I want something throaty, but not too loud; and I really do not want something that drones bad going down the highway. This is the family truck, and I don't want to give my wife a headache with super loud, droning exhaust.
I was thinking the Super 50 series from Flowmaster, however all the models I found look to be 2.5"in/out, and I measured the OD of my pipe and it was just over 3".
Any help is appreciated. I'd like to keep all the other piping in place, and just replace the muffler. I'm open to other brands too; more affordable the better
Thanks for the help!

I've been doing some research today, this is what i think i'm going to go with:
Flowmaster 853057 Super 50 Muffler 409S - 3.00 Center IN / 3.00 Offset OUT - Moderate Sound : Amazon.com : Automotive
3 in, 3 out. i have to redo the tail pipe right now anyway, so i can make any kind of offset work.

I ended up calling Flowmaster and talked to them. They recommended me the 50 series Big Block: model# 53553 - 50 Series Big Block 3.50IN(O)/OUT(O) [53553] - $178.58 : Flowmaster Inc. Exhaust Shop, Love That Sound!
I installed in on Friday, and LOVE IT! Nice tone, sounds awesome when at WOT or revving, and no drone. It's not "loud", but sounds very good.
When I removed the "stock" muffler, I discovered it was a Banks muffler. In fact, this truck seems to have a Banks intake and a complete Banks exhaust (headers, etc.), with a Flowmaster muffler now.
The muffler was almost the exact same length of what was on there. It's a 3.5" ID inlet and outlet, and since my outlet was already 3.5" OB, I had to have a coupler made up that went over my 3" OD inlet side pipe that expanded to 3.5" OB to fit in the muffler.
Good luck man!
