One of these new CNG Superduties was on a recent Top Gear USA episode on history channel. They had a challenge to drive from Portland to San Fran on one tank and even though it has two tanks (gas, CNG) one of the hosts drove the truck.

Hell, I bet I could do that with my one tank (38 gal nominal) in my 99 F-350 CC LWB at 60 mph...I know I could do it with my Jetta TDI wagon .

Sounds possible, they said it was 700 miles so that would be 18.4 mpg for the 99. Spoiler Alert: The only one of the three that completed the challenge was an older Passat TDI.

I drive it fairly regularly...just under 650 miles - I can squeeze almost 40 gallons in my tank, so that works out to 16.25 mpg. In my Jetta wagon it would be 39.4 mpg (easy peezy)

Winner either way! It was a race too and both of yours would beat that old Passat.

Alright, I'll bite...how do you "race" with a 55 mph speed limit in Oregon ? Here is how we race in Nevada!
