96f15.... im leaving for the junkyard in a hour to get a 3G alternator..
i know the subject has been beat to death, but not specifically the side mount model. It appears that my alternator is already a 3G? If so then which cars should i be looking for ? how can i tell it will fit and how many amps ??

Seriously though, there are two side-mount patterns that are slightly different - in fact IIRC, two of the three mounting holes are the same and it's just the third that is a little different.

If you're just want another one that is the same as yours, stick to V8 trucks of the same era.

 

so the high amperage and 90amp look the same?
are there any other defining features besides the bolt locations that differentiates the 2?
humm ok .. im gonna pop it off now and measure...

 

The 130 amp model has 2 holes in between the ribs on the front and the 95 amp model has 4 holes.
