2013 Escape overview

Titanium 2.0 EB FWD. Just took 2000 mile trip from IL to TX. Drove 70-75 almost the whole trip. Car had 10,500 at start of trip. We averaged 27.2 MPG on the trip. I was quite impressed. We traded in a 2009 3.0 AWD for this one. The transmission is ten times better in new one. I believe that the solid torque output of the 2.0 turbo makes the tranny not have to shift or hunt in different load conditions. The new one is quiet, solid, and predictable. The 235/45/19 tires help quite a bit for the handling. Had the My Ford Touch reflashed and now the "Miles To Empty" are more accurate. Ford has seemed to put a 2 gal. reserve in the calculations. So far no complaints. My 2001 3.0 AWD is still going strong at 217,000 miles.

I got a 2014(wrong thread, I know) 2.0EB 4WD Titanium last week. I have put about 550 miles on it so far and the mpg has been steadily climbing up to about 24.3 now. My commute is about 45 miles and the overall mileage includes 4 round trips so far. That is about a 60% highway to 40% stop and go mix.

Nice to see you around Crystal- been over at Escape City- kind of the same thing everywhere- nobody wants to change how they drive just complain

It really hasn't changed since 70's- when gas prices started to rise

23 mpg's seems my tops now at 16k in the city, down side is we had a jerk open a car door up while we drove past taking out the right side , took 4 weeks to get the bumper. hood, plastic radiator support and fender in from back order, another was the need of 2 new rims and tires after a major chuck hole hit. another 3 weeks waiting on the wheels and tires from again back ordered.
this plus the 3 weeks sitting at the dealer for the fire recall in dec and another 2 days to reflash the dash again after the first flashing to make it work right.

ford needs to get their act together on parts.

If you have an Escape equipped with MyFordTouch, Ford released an update to the software. I updated mine tonight and there seems to be some improvements in performance and voice recognition.

Gen2-V3.6.2

My Ford Touch

Agree with DBUBBA, I applied the latest update and it has improved the performance greatly. Responds faster, no reboots, and now has screen with possible prompts for the voice activation.

MFT Update

Heck yeh, that is a nice bonus. There are those times when your not sure what your voice options are and it displays those options clearly on the screen. Have you also noticed the speed at which routes are calculated? So far its a winner in my book...

ford can keep that my touch system and give me a old fashioned 6 cd changer . to much un needed electronics in all the new cars that allow drivers to take their minds off driving making for unsafe roads.
one thing they all could add is a item that makes cell phone usage in a moving car impossible

2013 2.0 AWD Titianium. Got in May, about 5300 miles on it now. At 80 on the Interstate we get 23. 60 on winding 2 lane about 28. Put bike rack on top for last trip and got 17 at 80. Yikes!

With my experience 60 is the magic number for maximum highway fuel economy. I have seen 28-30 mph on the highway at 60-65mph.

I think mine loosened up a little at 3K and then at 10K. The first 6 tanks averaged 21+/- mpg.
