Fuel pump cut off switch

it depends what time period your van is.
assuming you're in the fuel injected time period, there is an "inertia switch" that serves to cut off fuel flow in a collision. tapping into its wire would be the easiest choice.
most of the books say its usually mounted on the right inside of the firewall, but on an 87 f150 i worked on, it was behind the clutch pedal.
