orifice tube
How hard is it to replace the orifice tube on a 1998 Expedition? It has the 5.4l engine. The truck was parked for about 3yrs with tranny problem. I just had it fixed and the ac not working now. The clutch goes on and off every few seconds which sounds to me to be a plugged orifice tube.

low side too low - high side too high = orifice… or restriction in the system...
need to pump down the system, break open the connections where the orifice is located. and replace… some systems the complete hose requires replaced to change orifice. then the dryer needs replaced and the system pumped down for at least 1/2 hour in dry climate.. 1 hr in humid conditions.. check for leak-down.. and fill. check for leaks and run.. remove the gauges, check for leaks again and enjoy the cool...
