2007 F550 loss of power

I have a 2007 f550 6.0 diesel. has about 20,000 miles on new engine. I filled up with diesel got to a quarter tank the truck started cutting out and missing loss of power.

Starts good no water in the oil, no smoke. I bought some water out and it ran good. A few days later I got diesel at another store I filled up at a half tank and the truck ran worse. just missing and cutting out. at low rpm's truck does good.

Has any one had this problem before.

Thanks

Just curious. Have you changed your fuel filters regularly? If so, what do they look like when they're removed? Do you see foreign deposits on the primary filter? The reason I ask is because an F-550 is obviously a cab and chassis type truck and therefore uses an after axle metal tank that seems to have issues with the inner lining of the tank delaminating, which can cause a fuel inlet restriction, and in turn the concern you describe.

. I changed the fuel filters when I put the motor in I don't remember what they looked like. I drove the truck about 2000 miles. It is a flatbed. When I run all the diesel out I will change the filters . Or should I do it now. Do they make a after market fuel tank

Thanks for your reply

Did you drain the water separator when you changed the filters? Take a look at what the fuel looks like when you drain it.

Titan makes aftermarket tanks - several others do as well.

It's the knurled **** with the allen wrench slot on the side of the HFCM (Fuel Filter).

The knurling is only there if somebody has installed the LCF drain plug.

Seems to be Runing fine. But im hopeing it dident hurt my injectors. There was no drain plug. Something I need invest in.

Thank you all for your replys and I hope this helps someone else.

Yes there is a Plug to drain the Water they ALL HAVE ONE

Sounds like you have the OEM ALLEN Head Plug for the water separater Drain its on the Fuel pump on the frame

Judging by what you found the HFCM (Fuel Pump on the Frame) needs to be cleaned out as well

I will see if I can find a Pic

The Water separater on the Pump is more than Likely full of Junk Too

Its between the 2 Arrows that Point down towards the Wires

the Bigger Round Circle thing towards the Bottom of the FLAT Middle Plate

Take that Flat Cover Plate Off its probably Full of JUNK IN IT
