Question low-side reads the highes that the gauges goes!

Need help: I notice that the air was not too cool like it use to;so I hock-up the gauges and the low-side reads extremly high to were it says retarded; and the high-side is on about 175 pisg;
Can some body help me out. I'm thinking that may be the compresor is bad, but like to have a proffessional opinion. Thank's

Not a proffessional but I do have an opinion

Number one, whenever you ask about ac pressures , you need to give the ambient at which they were taken. Now as I doubt that out side temp was hot enough for r12 or r134 to develop 175 lbs static pressure, your compressor must be pumping. If your low side is also showing high pressures, you proably have a restriction somewhere. But before you go tearing it down, Are you sure you were actually on the low side port? Some systems have two high side ports one pre condensor and one post. If you were on the post condensor you would get a high reading but lower than the "high side" fitting reading. If the condensor is working right. I think.
