Overhead console temp gauge???

I have a 95 Bronco xl that I have turned into essentially an Eddie Bauer. I have swapped the entire interior, dash, seats, everything. I am having a problem with getting the temperature gauge on the overhead console to function. The compass works fine but the temp says "OC". I have swapped most of the wiring harnesses and know that everything is installed correctly. Should I take a closer look at the computer for the overhead console or is there a sensor somewhere that i don't know about? Any help would be appreciated.

The temp sensor on my 94 EB is in front of the driver's front tire. Put your head in front of it and look up. It is the outer connection. I have been told the inner is for some Canadian lights.

I posted a picture of it some where.

I have done almost the same thing swapping my interior. I didn't have a Bronco overhead console, but I used an explorer one which is extremely similar.

If you did not run wires for the sensor, I do not believe you will have them there, so you will have to make sure to run them. I ended up mounting my sensor in front of the condenser on the drivers side, but not where it's in direct wind current so it doesn't mess with the temperature. It works really well and is super convenient to have the compass and temperature now.

I may be wrong about the wiring not being there, it's been a while since I wired mine up, but I'm almost positive the xl (like mine 'was') does NOT have the wiring for the sensor. If it does, then it certainly doesn't have the sensor, so you will need to pick one up either from a parts store or a junk yard. I believe the explorer and Bronco temperature sensors are interchangeable so you could probably just go to a yard and pick up a sensor there from an explorer for super cheap. I think overall, I paid about $35-40 for the overhead console, wiring harness, and temperature sensor at a junk yard so that's not too bad.

THANKS

I've found when doing the whole swap that for every accessory i didn't have, there was a hookup for it on the main harness, the lumbar support, overhead console, cruise control, etc. If anyone could describe what the first connector looks like, following from the sensor back i would greatly appreciate it. I plan on going to the junk yard tomorrow and i'm sure i can figure it out but it would be helpful. Thanks for the info, I have asked many people and looked online for that answer with no luck until now, so thanks again.

My lack of memory may lead you astray. I think I remember the sensor is a two wire connector with the sensor plugged into it. I replaced the module and light assembly with a later model explorer. The outer matching color ring was different however the explorer dark part fit it perfectly. Connectors were the same. The lights are not as bright at the Bronco ones but OK.
