Longest drive so far for my F4

Had a great time at the NHRA Div 3 ET 1/8 mile finals this weekend. Ran a 6.996 on a7.00 dial - off the trailer. Won the first round on Saturday, then went red on Sunday at about 8:45am. So since it was so early I loaded up everything on the F4, including the trailer with the F1, and I drove it home the 72 miles from Indy to home. Its the longest trip I’ve made so far in the F4. Hit a top speed of 54mph going down a hill and saw as little as 42 mph going up hill. The old flathead ran great, never went over 180 degrees and good oil pressure the whole trip. It was fun to drive home in the slow lane after a weekend of racing. Here is a picture a guy took and modifed of the F1 - I thought it looked nice.

Any video out there of the drag truck? I'd love to check that out. Very cool.

72 miles?!! Is that all? And up and down one measily hill? Heck I could do that standing on my head after the drive I did last week.

Just giving you a hard time. It feels great to have it on the road and doing something with it, isn't it? It always feels good to be driving old iron.

Like Rob asked, any video, we like videos. Not just of the drag truck but of the F-4 fully loaded and going down the road.

Terre Haute IN?!! Dang, I didn't notice your location before. We just drove through on Tuesday of this week with the F-2. We could have stopped and checked out each others trucks.

Thanks for posting the videos. I don't know if I'll be able to sleep tonight after watching that hardcore truck ****!

Is that a Camaro your up against in the last video of the F1?... how did that one come out? I can't decide if I think your truck is more Mad Max or Darth Vader-ish. The looks of the truck and the way it sounds go really well together.

I really like the stock type trucks as well so I also really like the look of the F4. Don't tease us too long on that one... we'll need to see more video.

My name is Rojak and I'm a Ford truck addict!!!...

Yes its a Camaro I got the win that round. I must say I like beating Camaro's more then any other car. I went to my first final round tonigh only to breakout (ran to fast). Here are a few videos of the F4.

Hey Tom,
Thanks for posting the videos - very nice! I'm not super familiar with
those flatheads - what's the blue cylinder shaped piece up by the firewall? Looks like an oil filter?

Do you have any concerns about hauling that weight with the
old flathead? Your's runs real quiet.

Love your trucks

Yes that is the oil filter. AS long as I keep the temp down it should be fine. This summer in 100 plus days it stayed at 180 all day while driving.
