Truck is PITA!! Help

Replaced the fuel pump. Test drove last night. Freaking working fantastic no problems. Drive to college and no problems ( 25 minute drive ). Try to drive home nope. Have to baby it again but much worse. Even when babying it it still would die on me.

Now this problem is getting the best of me.

My guess is that the fuel shutoff solenoid is going bad. I just can't see what else it can be. The injection pump is 25,000 miles old checking the receipt from two years ago, I've owned it the last year. I hear they don't normally replace the fuel shut off solenoid.

Did some testing of the fss by cooling it down with water and the problems go away.

Truck stalled. Cooled down the fss and it ran PERFECT.

Thanks a fellow fte member I'm getting a new fss for a good price.

I think so. But, i think it depends. I figure a lot of those pumps just need a fss. Mine runs perfect when the fss is working. Pump only has 25,000 on it, and until the fss i was still getting 21 mpg. doesn't smoke. It's just one day it was bad. I figure pump take a lot more than one day to go bad.

Probably the best thing to do first any way heck of alot cheaper the changing the IP, Just be sure to get it back on right so it doesnt run away.

I found a post over at ob that showed the correct way everything should be so that shouldn't happen. But I'll be ready with a board to cover the intake!

I hope i don't need an injection pump. I think i may have to switch my daily driver at that rate.
